Introducing…..The Narya- Mini!

Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada–  October 2025– We’re excited to introduce the Narya-Mini, a compact, easy-to-use treatment chamber built for teams who want to test material heating profiles with microwaves before scaling up. Starting from a commercially available microwave oven, we integrated a new control system and Windows-based HMI to provide complete control of the magnetron and a modern, data-rich user experience.

“Industry asked for a fast, flexible way to validate microwave processes in the lab,” said Mark Robertson, CTO of Rivendell Technologies. “Narya-Mini lets you dial in temperature, power, and profiles with precision—then capture the data you need to move confidently toward production.”


 The Narya-Mini supports three primary treatment modes—standard manual use, a target-temperature mode that automatically reaches and holds a set point, and a profile mode that strings together multiple temperatures and/or power levels—so researchers can move from quick experiments to repeatable protocols in one platform.


Designed for serious lab work, the system delivers 0–1200 W at 2450 MHz and ships with full documentation, including access to the code base, hardware schematics, bill of materials, and CAD files. The interior is configurable: customers can add gas inlet and outlet ports, a convection-cooled water load to minimize reflected power for low-loss samples, and a thermal insulation box that enables sustained operation up to 1500 °C. Temperature can be measured via Inconel-tipped thermocouples—up to two per chamber—with optional IR measurement, and data moves wirelessly between the chamber and the control software. We also support the design and manufacture of custom quartz treatment vessels when projects demand it.


The software is built for control and traceability. Users can adjust calibration factors, ramp rates, control-loop variables, interlocks, and user limits, then watch a live trend view with a configurable time base and X/Y cursors for close inspection of run data. Logging is automatic for every process, can be extended through cool-down, and allows you to choose exactly what gets written to the log; logs can be reloaded into the live viewer or exported for analysis in other tools. Role-based user profiles secure access, save preferred defaults, and enforce idle timeouts, while the Windows HMI ties everything together with data logging, interlocking, and straightforward navigation.
